How MSite is changing the face of site workforce management

MSite was developed by HRS specifically for the construction industry. It combines a practical biometric access control with a cutting edge information management system to create a complete man management system.  MSite offers improved control and efficiency and makes a significant contribution to profit margins.

Solution Walk-through

Access to site is via a turnstile.  The turnstile is released when an individual presents their biometric credentials - hand geometry, iris, fingerprint or face - and it is recognised by the system the person is authorised. Each set of biometrics is attached to a personal record which includes detail of CSCS accreditation, health & safety, induction training, incident records etc. Site rules can be set by the administrators that govern who is allowed or not allowed onto site.  Eg. no current CSCS, no access to site. Each time an individual enters or leaves site the system records it, allowing Project Managers to obtain accurate report information for who is on site right now, workers by contractors, how long individuals stayed on site etc.

  • Benefits of using biometrics - biometric credentials cannot be 'borrowed', stolen or lost so do not have to be manually checked by security personnel.  'Ghost workers' or 'buddy punching' is not possible. This means quick and easy entry to site for all authorised users, which saves on manpower costs and prevents the falsification of payment claims.
  • Managing identity makes sites safer - the link between an individual's biometric and their personal record means that the system knows their status regarding any number of issues: CSCS accreditation, if they have passed site safety induction, trade qualifications and grade, and their penalty points for being involved in site safety incidents etc.  The Site Manager can then set rules which govern who can be authorised to enter site, or who needs to undertake remedial action before they are allowed in, so that the company's policy and best practice can be upheld without failure.
  • Greater control through accurate information - the flexible reporting platform allows reports to be generated quickly and easily to suit the Project Manager's needs: Muster reports to see who is on site at any particular time, time and attendance records, total man-hours worked for a given period. Reports can be used to investigate - eg. if a particular work package has fallen behind schedule, or there is a dispute about claims for payment - how many men of which grade and how many hours did that particular contractor work on site?
  • 3G communication allows ultimate flexibility - For complex site set ups, data from many entry points can be grouped into one set of reports, each cabin transmitting information via the secure 3G network. Entry cabins can be moved around as the site progresses without the need for data cabling or further set up work.
  • Enterprise solutions build powerful reporting capabilities -using wireless communication sites can be grouped for Head Office management information and the data integrated into the company's operational reports.  This means that an Operations Director has complete visibility of identity management and safety policy across all sites.  Major administration tasks, such as compiling RIDDOR reports can be made simple by knowing instantly how many people were employed and how many man-hours were worked each week.
  • Reliable and robust solution - MSite has been used by leading players in construction for more than 18 months.  During this time it has proved itself to be reliable, resilient and robust and fully fitting the specific needs of the industry.  High quality customer service, hardware and support means that downtime to the system is minimised.

Continuous ongoing development to the systems ensures that MSite will always be the most sophisticated and complete solution available.

MSite Gives you options depending on your specific operational needs

  • Single Site - a rentable stand alone option where reporting is done on site.  The solution is housed in a site cabin, complete with turnstile and delivered ready to go. Bespoke cabins or turnstile housings can be catered for.
  • Hosted Service - cabins are delivered on site as above, but the management information is hosted by HRS giving users access to the full functionality of the system.
  • Full Corporate Solutions - For customers who want to own and run their own system.
  • 3G - As single site, but using wireless technology to link multiple access points in a more complex site arrangement.
